Wherever you are in your grief, you don’t have to be alone.

Grief coaching for adults after a loss — including the loss of an animal companion. Private sessions by video, wherever you are.

Maybe you know this kind of loss.

Grief takes many shapes, and it does not wait for permission to be big.

Perhaps someone central to your life has died — a husband or wife, a parent, a child, a sibling, a friend.

Perhaps the loss is quieter to the outside world but not to you: an animal who was family, a person you’re losing slowly to illness while they are still here, a loss others didn’t see as yours.

Perhaps you cared for someone through their dying, and now that the caring is done, you don’t know who you are without it.

Wherever your grief comes from, it is real, and it belongs here.

Something has changed, and the people around you seem to expect you to be further along than you are.

You are not behind. Grief does not run on a schedule. It does not arrive in tidy stages and leave when the casseroles stop. It comes in waves, out of order, often when you least expect it — a song, a smell, an empty chair at the table.

I will not tell you it gets better on a timeline. I don’t know your grief, and I won’t pretend to.

But I can sit with you in it. I can help you carry what you’re carrying, make sense of what feels senseless, and find your footing again — at your own pace, in your own way.

Grief does not close. It changes form. That is the work we do together.

Hi, I'm Judy Iannaccone (she/her)

End-of-Life Doula & Certified Grief coach

I’m Judy Iannaccone — a certified grief coach and end-of-life doula, and the founder of Spirited Crossings.

I know grief from the inside. Within seven years I lost my father, my mother, and my only sibling, along with beloved animal companions and dear friends. Those losses taught me what grieving people most need and too rarely receive: someone unhurried, unafraid of their pain, willing to simply stay.

I won’t try to fix your grief or rush it along. I’m here to sit with you in it, and to help you find your footing — at your pace, in your own way.

Talking It Through

Sometimes what helps most is simply being heard — by someone who won’t flinch, won’t rush you, and won’t tell you how to feel. Together we make room for whatever you’re carrying: the sorrow, the anger, the guilt, the love with nowhere to go. You won’t have to explain why it still hurts here.

Grounding and Steadying

Grief lives in the body as much as the heart — the sleepless nights, the tight chest, the waves that arrive without warning. When it overwhelms you, we work with simple, practical tools to help you find solid ground again: breath, gentle awareness, small things you can reach for on your own between our sessions. Nothing you have to believe in. Just what helps.

Remembering and Re-Engaging

Grief doesn’t ask you to leave anyone behind. Together we find ways to keep the one you lost close to you — remembrance, ritual, the small practices that let love stay in relationship with the person who died. And when you’re ready, and not before, we look gently at how to step back toward your own life: what it means to live fully and still carry them with you.

Please let me know how I can support you at this moment. Book a free introductory call, or reach me by email.

Grief coaching is offered by video, nationwide (U.S.), in English and Spanish.

What to Expect:

  • 1 A free introductory call — a short, no-pressure conversation to tell me a little about your loss, hear how I work, and feel whether we’re a good fit. No commitment.
  • 2 A first session to understand your grief — unhurried; you tell me about the person you lost, where you are now, and what would help. You won’t have to explain why it still hurts here.
  • 3 Ongoing sessions, at your pace — as often or as seldom as serves you. Grief has no schedule, and neither do we. You set the rhythm.

A single session is $100 for a full hour, by video. Packages of sessions are available at a reduced rate. The introductory call is always free.

Sessions are private, held by video, wherever you are.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are you affiliated with a religious organization?

No. I'm not tied to any church or religious organization, and I don't bring an agenda into your space. I work with people of every faith and of none. Whatever you believe about what comes next, I meet you there. If ritual or spiritual practice matters to you, we can include it. If it doesn't, we won't.

Q. Is grief coaching the same as therapy or counseling?

No. I’m a grief coach, not a therapist, and I want that clear from the start. Grief coaching is companionship and support through loss. Together we make sense of what you’re feeling, find grounding, and take the next steps at your pace. It is not therapy or mental health treatment — I don’t diagnose, and I don’t treat.

Coaching can stand on its own, or sit alongside the work you’re already doing with a therapist. If what you’re carrying needs more than coaching can hold, I’ll tell you, and I’ll help you find the right support. That’s not a door closing. It’s part of caring for you well.

Q. And if I’m in crisis?

If the weight of this feels like more than you can carry alone, please reach out for immediate help. In the U.S., call or text 988 — the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline — any time, day or night.

Ready to begin?

You don’t have to know what you need. You don’t have to have the right words, or be “doing well,” or be sure this is the answer. You only have to be willing to start a conversation.
